Best soondubu I've had in Queens since the demise of BCD out in Bayside. In short, the soondubu sits in incredibly flavorful broth, the rice is excellent since you get the crispy bits and the banchan here is fresh and taste's great. The service here is fantastic and the dining area is clean and not cramped so you don't feel other diners on top of you. The best thing however here is the price. They charge between 15-20 for a stew and it's well worth it given the quality of the food. This will be where I go to from now on if I'm craving tofu stew.

A solid place to get some soondubu in the Murray Hill area. Not much of a wait to get seated, service is also decent. My go to dish is definitely the soondubu with kalguksu noodles, kimchi and beef flavor, mild~. Not too spicy for my pallate and is very filling. I really like that they offer a lot of baachan side dishes (and refills). Also really like the hot steamed eggs! Ambiance is casual, noticed depending on the waiter you may encounter endless playlist of kpop girl groups while another prefers kdrama OSTs. Parking is limited but there is a small space in front of the restaurant, I usually prefer to find a spot in the neighborhood though.

Missed New York food so much and first thing I wanted was Murray Hill Korean food. IT WAS THE RIGHT CHOICE!! Dropped in at 11PM and it was one server running the restaurant. The restaurant was so randomly busy on a Tuesday night but he handled it well. He was the sweetest and gave us lots of Banchan (the little side dishes. That was the best banchan Ive ever had, so fresh and lots of it. He even gave us a steamed egg which was AWESOME. We all got tofu stew ramen and the portions are so big and prices are reasonable for that amount of food there is and taste. Definitely coming back to try the desserts because I've heard good things about the shaved ice. Very clean place overall and cozy!

Fast service, great food, great price!! Love this place. And they open until 3am!! I've been here multiple times after work and it hits the spot. I usually get my kimchee beef tofu soup with rice and they give 4 sides of Banchan, steamed eggs and kimchee. All just for myself! The Banchan are unlimited! Food comes out piping hot! Perfect for a cold night!

The 11am - 4pm lunch special is one of the best Korean lunch specials in Flushing. Some prices look a bit hefty, but you can actually share most of them with your SO, which I recommend, otherwise you would be stuffed. Just take a look at the most recent lunch special menus in the pics section along with doing a key word search of the reviews. Today, I went with the $8.95 soon tubu jigae (with pork) special. You choose between beef, pork, seafood or, I believe, dumpling...you also choose the spice level. It comes boiling hot along with a whole egg. The bonchon comprised of mashed potato salad, marinated mild radish, tofu skin, cucumber kimchi and bokchoy kimchi...all were excellent. Were it not for the 2 beers, the total would have been less than $10 (and I believe a little cheaper if you pay in cash). Winter's coming, get ready for the hot stews! Oh, btw, if you order dishes from the main menu, then you will get a complimentary steamed egg (been here for dinner before).

TLDR: Ziggle is a local restaurant in the Murray Hill area that specializes in soondubu. Good spot for a late night meal, they're open until 3am. Kimchi beef, yook jeon are the way to go. With BCD gone, Queens has been looking for a soondubu spot. Ziggle has filled that void and is great for a late night meal. The soondubu is a bit more chunky than BCD's - good to get a combo as well. The soondubu can get quite spicy if you ask for the max, so be careful. The gentleman who works the late night shift is very generous with the banchan and nice to talk with.

Love that they're opened late night. Ordered their combo and it comes with short ribs. Will come back for other stuff.

This restaurant is located on 41st Ave and 149th St, where many restaurants are located. There is both residential parking and meter parking available, along with the Murray Hill LIRR nearby. I've been here a few times now as it is conveniently located near me, and it is a solid place to get your Soondubu (tofu soup) fix. Inside, the restaurant is clean and does not look run down. My most recent visit was with my family, and one of the items I ordered was the Bibimnaengmyeon. It was nicely flavored, with a mix of sweetness and spicyness. The most important thing was that the noodles were not dry, which is sometimes a problem at other restaurants. For the soondubu, I chose the beef soondubu and chose the extra spicy option. You can also make it into a combo, which is what I did. The kalbi combined with the soondubu makes an excellent pair! As I frequently compare the flavor of the tofu soup to the more known restaurant that has been closed for a while, I think this restaurant is a good alternative. At the end of your soondubu meal, remember that you can make your own Nuringji (scorched rice with hot tea/water). You can ask the staff to pour the water in for you when you're ready. From their banchans, the spicy cucumbers were definitely a favorite. We kept asking for more refills! Staff at this restaurant are courteous and are able to help you if you need something.
